Description
Computing in the "cloud" is now a mainstream model for users and developers, and it brings with it inevitable challenges. One panel speaker at a recent cloud computing event organised by training and recruitment consultancy TFPL set the tone by saying: "Let's not discuss what cloud computing is, but let's analyse what it means to us." In traditional computing, users buy the software they want and install it on their own computers, running their applications from those local or networked machines whenever they use them. In cloud computing, on the other hand, the software resides on an internet server run by or on behalf of the software supplier, and users get access to the features of those applications via the internet.
